Izabella was born in Sweden by Brazilian and Croatian parents. She Studied at RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia as well as Parsons School of Design in New York. After years of pursuing fashion photography, she has now shifted her focus towards portraiture and documentary work. During her fashion years she shot for Nippon Vogue, Zink, and Oyster magazine to name a few. Her recent project “Without a Face” has been acknowledged by Conscientious, Eyeteeth and Vogue. She was honored as a winner of the 2010 Magenta Foundation Flash Forward competition. Her project “Without a Face” will be exhibited at the International Women’s Festival in Aleppo, Syria in October 2010. She will also be attending this years Eddie Adams workshop in NY.
“I strongly believe that beauty is impossible to define solely by appearance. To illustrate deeper definition of female beauty, I photograph women whose pictorial beauty radiates from their accomplishment, character and personal struggles.”
